Stourbridge Company of Archers
News

We have now moved most of our kit into our new venue at Bibbey Farm in Hunnington, not far from Somers, and have shot our first arrows there.

There's still a lot of setting-up to do, so we have decided to move our Rat's Ashes tournament back to Saturday 16 Aug. The Saturday date is because we share our new field with a car boot sale on summer Sundays. We will confirm the date for the Sheriff's Western in due course.

Open tournaments:
-
Sat 16 Aug - Rat's Ashes American - Details | Entry form
-
Sun 07 Sep (TBC) - UKRS Sheriff's Western

After 41 years at Somers we have moved to a new venue not far away. We had already been barred from consuming food and drink on site unless bought from Somers, making open tournaments and some club events untenable. We would also face further restrictions and expense on the use of the field and clubhouse in future.

Stourbridge Company of Archers is a target archery club, though some of its members also regularly participate in field, clout and roving marks. Members shoot recurve, compound and longbow.
Indoor shooting during the winter takes place at Waseley Hills High School in Rednal.
The following venues are used by SCoA:

Outdoor club and tournaments - Bibbey Farm, Hunnington B62 0JJ. Access from Illey Lane.
Indoor club and tournaments - Waseley Hills High School, School Road, Rednal B45 9EL
Beginners' courses are held each year. For a modest fee to cover the provision of equipment and insurance, you can have a detailed, safe and, we hope, enjoyable introduction to the sport of Archery. For queries about courses and to get on our mailing list contact us at enquiries@scoa.org.uk but please read our Getting Started page first.

Our courses for this year are nearly finished, but we can put you on a mailing list for next year's courses. Alternatively you may be able to do a course at another club and then come to shoot with us. Details of other local clubs are at https://www.worcestershirearchery.co.uk/.

Experienced archers wishing to join us, either from another club, or coming back into the sport after an absence should contact us using the link above. We will probably need to arrange a shooting assessment to confirm that you know how to shoot safely.
